First season of Fantasy Snooker is history
Brecel beat Mark Selby in a thrilling final to round up the first season of Fantasy Snooker! I hope you enjoyed the World Championship, I certainly did.
Fun fact, only two of you had Luca Brecel in their team: Hermund and his Nostradamus 12 and The Screwdriver and his The Tool Box 👏
First winner of Fantasy Snooker
Someone else who must be jumping with joy is the first winner of Fantasy Snooker: Daz with his team The Warriors. His team consisting of Mark Allen (semifinalist), Vafaei Hossein (2nd round), Mark Selby (runner-up), Gary Wilson (2nd round) and Ronnie O'Sullivan (quarterfinalist and captain) accumulated a total of 594 points. He was chased by Hermund and his Nostradamus 12 who accumulated 561 points. Third place was shared(!) between Groves147 (My dads a legend!) and Snooker Hare (The Magician's Hares) who both received 474 points. See the full ranking list for the 2022/2023 season.

Wrap-up of the first season
It's strange to think we launched in Early Access about a month and a half ago! Time flies when you're having fun. Fantasy Snooker was in a very early stage when first launched, but the lessons learned and user input from you guys were crucial in making the game move forward with such a steady pace. Personally I've learned a ton as a developer and have rekindled my passion for snooker.
Again, I'd like to personally thank everyone who has joined and participated, with an honorable mention to those who joined during the World Championship and unfortunately couldn't participate. I hope we will see many of you in the next season of Fantasy Snooker starting with the European Masters (22-27 August) in Autumn. We will probably send a reminder e-mail some time in advance.
Season 2023/2024
The first (short) season has been a great experience and we're already looking ahead for what's to come. In the off-season we have time to take a breather (it was hectic during the Worlds!) and also deal with less visible and urgent (but still important) issues like quality assurance, monitoring, performance, issue tracking and more. We'll probably implement a few features as well! We'll keep you posted on our blog, social medias and the occasional e-mails.
Here's a few ideas we have for features:
- Public issues/road map (where you can create new or comment on issues, and possibly steer the direction of Fantasy Snooker by voting on features etc)
- Public customizable profiles
- Badges/achievements
- Live update of points during tournaments
Let us know what you think and what you'd like to have in the game. Any feedback is appreciated.
I hope to see your team in August! Enjoy the summer ☀️ - Kjetil Hårtveit, founder and developer of Fantasy Snooker
